Fundus Autofluorescence

Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF) Photography

FAF is a non-invasive, imaging technique which shows the distribution and health of lipofuscin, a natural fluorescent pigment in the retinal pigment epithelium. Abnormal fluorescence is seen when there is cellular stress or damage to the retina. Our system allows ultra-widefield visualization to permit a more complete retinal evaluation and usually takes only a few minutes.
