Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

Optical Coherence Tomography, or OCT, is a non-invasive, fast-imaging test that uses light waves to take high-resolution, cross-sectional pictures of the retina and optic nerve. Prior to this technology, the layers of these structures could not be readily visualized. The Optos OCT system uses Swept Source technology offering the most advanced visualization currently available using a 23 mm line scan with the ability to view the peripheral retina in addition to the macula.
